Kingdom Conquest

Kingdom Conquest is a Territorial Conquest Board Game created as an End-Of-Year Project during my 1st year of study in DSK SupInfoGame, Pune. Kingdom Conquest started as a very simple mechanic which me and my teammates, Francois Dernoncourt and Shreyan Das turned into a fully playable board game.

The game can be played by 1-4 players, has a random AI and is designed to be portable so that it can be played anywhere.

Here is the commercial for our Board Game:

The first image shows a blue tile placed on a grey (unconquered) board. In the second image, the blue tile gets surrounded by two red (enemy) tiles from two sides. As a result, the blue tile is defeated by the two red tiles and the blue area is captured by the red player.

This mechanic gives rise to Chain Reactions, another cool mechanic in our Board Game.

In the 1st image above, the blue player has a big lead. He has 9 conquered territories whereas the red player has only 5. But the red player's conquered territories are surrounding the blue player's. In the second picture, the red player conquers andther territory which completely surrounds the territories captured by the blue player and starts a chain reaction. The chain reaction results in the red player capturing all the territories previously captured by the blue player like in the last image.

The 'chain reaction' mechanic can make the game turn at any point regardless of which player has a bigger advantage on the board.

These are the core mechanics of our Board Game. To read about all the rules and gameplay styles, consider reading the Rulebook here:
